I spoke with Chef Barry Brock to learn more about what it was like opening his brand-new restaurant right in the middle of the pandemic. In his words, “It’s had its challenges.” He’s been focusing almost entirely on to-go options throughout the health crisis, but demand for catering is beginning to return.
Chef Barry was inspired to go into the restaurant industry because of his grandmother. He saw how happy her food made people feel, and he wanted to create that same happiness with his own cooking. He also wants to help others create their own happiness through making food; when the pandemic passes, he plans to use his space to teach culinary classes at night.
